Armed men allegedly broke into two houses in Kubwa, a satellite town in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), robbing the occupants of their valuables, including a car.

Abuja Metro learnt that the incident took place around the Arab Road area in the town on Tuesday.

One of the victims, Abdul’aziz Isiyaka, while narrating the incident, put the time at some minutes before 3am.

He said the robbers, having forced the main door open, pointed a gun at the wife of the landlord who they first met.

He said, ‘’It was her scream that woke me up, and in the process of checking on her, they hit me with their gun on the head, directing me to lay down.

“They also hit me with a machete, asking me for a gun, which I said I didn’t have. They demanded for my phone and seized it along with three others owned by my family members.’’

He further said the robbers stole a laptop belonging to one of his children, as well as a pumping machine, and other electronics before directing him to start his Highlander SUV, which they left with.

He added, “Initially they threatened to kidnap me before directing me to get out of the car, possibly after noticing that blood was gushing from my head.’’

He said the robbers proceeded into his neighbour’s house, before leaving the area, after the operation which lasted for about an hour.

He said the matter was reported at the Byazhin police division in Kubwa, where a police officer was asked to accompany them to the Kubwa General Hospital, where he was treated.

A police officer at the division confirmed the incident but declined further comments.

The spokeswoman of the FCT police command, Josephine Adeh, could not be reached for comment on the incident.
